FENCING IN AFRICA
|

|
 |
 |
In 2005, Alisher Usmanov,
a former fencer and a world-renowned businessman, established an
international charitable foundation, “For the Future of Fencing,”
aimed to assist a tremendously beautiful and exciting sport
“fencing”. The sole purpose of this organization is not only to
assist federations, clubs, athletes, but also financing. This will
allow the development of projects, equipment procurement, support
of scientific researches, and the newest technologies in the
refereeing process and competitions.
In 2008, Alisher Usmanov
has been elected as a President Of International Fencing
Federation. ( FIE ) |
|
The FIE Congress to be
held in November, 2016 will elect President of the
International Fencing Federation. I call upon you to support me
again and my Program for the development of fencing in 2016 –
2020.
I. What we have managed
to do since the previous program was adopted.
First of all, we have
resolved the major issue to promote the development of modern
international fencing, namely extended financial possibilities
of the International Fencing Federation. The past 4-year period
was the one during which I pumped up the FIE budget, which
currently stands at more than 24,534.000CHF.

art... instead of war Fencing has a rich and varied tradition.
To many, the art of swordplay conjures up romantic visions of knights
in shining armour and brave musketeers. |
